Although it is officially confirmed that the engive produces 225bhp as 'standard' it has been tested to give an incredible 237bhp in recent tests in bog standard form!!

This Civic Type 'R' has been driven by various high profile magazines such as Autocar, Auto Express & Evo and all absolutely enthuse about the level of performance & handling by this incredible machine!

Details

This model was launched in the Japanese Home Market in March 2007 and was an instant success. The Civic was developed very much with the driver in mind and is one of the ultimate driving experiences that completely involves the driver in all driving conditions on & off the track.

The specially tuned 2.0 litre normally aspirated engine is matched with a slick 6 speed manual gearbox. A lighter, more rigid body shell, 18" wheels and large 4 pot calipers combine to make this probably the world's best handling fwd car ever made.

The new instrument panel is quite unique combined with body hugging bucket seats makes the driver environment extremely comfortable & involving.

Look upon this car as the 4 Door NSX-R.

Type 'R' models that bear the famous red badge have been developed over the years to give a lasting impression. Indeed the new Civic Type 'R' is much quicker that the Integra and within 1 second of the NSX's time around the famous Tsukuba circuit in Japan. Further development saw a near 4 second advantage over the Integra at Suzuka!

At the heart of this little 'Beast' lies the K20A 2.0 litre normally aspirated engine which is the most powerfull mass produced in the world.

Peak Torque is now 215nm and the ngine redlines at an amazing 8400rpm.

The body shell of the new Civic Type 'R' has been especially developed to give maximum rigidity and whilst over 50% more rigid than the Integra is only 1.8kg more in weight!!

The suspension has also come in for some carefull development to aid turn in and to sharpen boby control at high speed and handling is further improved with the addition of a helical LSD.

18" Alloys are shod with Bridgestone RE070 tyres and offer outstanding grip in all situations.

The size of the brake discs have also been dramatically increased to improve stopping power and have amazing feel & response.

Body Colours come in a choice of: Championsip White, Deep Blue Metallic or Platinum Silver.

The Alloys are Dark Metallic Silver with the White cars having the traditional White Aloys.

The interior of the Civic comes with Leather Wheel, Short throw aluminium gearknob, shift lights on the dash and essentials such as air con and Exenon lights.

Emmissions are calculated at 203g/km and place the car in Group F for RFL.
